I was an idiot.

I burned all my bridges and had nowhere to turn! They were pissed and they were coming for me.

I was boxed in. I’d regretfully bitten off more than I could chew!

I was pissed at ME!

There was nowhere to FLEE! My back was literally up against the proverbial wall. It was either sink or swim!

Ever the gladiator, I doubled down on my fool-hearted action ( I did mention I was an IDIOT right? ) by doing the only logical thing . . . I BURNED THE BOAT! And headed directly toward the thing I’d feared the most.

And Why not!

I had some ridiculous notion I could be like Cortés. You know Hernán Cortés, the Spanish conquistador who in 1519 foolheartedly thought he could take over all of Mexico with just 600 soldiers, 16 horses, and 11 stinking boats!

Although, he quickly realized he’d bitten off more than he could chew.

Cortés, rallied the troops by telling them he was going to fight like hell, to get what he came for . . . ( Mexico was a preeminent land, laden with vast Gold, Silver and precious jewels.)

He followed up his rousing, inspiring speech by doing the only logical thing. He Burned ALL The Boats! Really! ALL OF The Boats!

For the 600 knuckleheads who decided to roll with Cortes, there was no turning back! They were either going fight like hell to get what they came for or die trying. ( Where you at Rapper 50 Cents?)

Incredulously, despite the insurmountable odds, Cortes became the first man in 600 years to successfully conquer Mexico!

If you’ve burned all your bridges, by that I mean ( quit your job and opened up your dream business) yet you’re facing insurmountable odds ( winning growth capital from your friendly neighborhood bank)

I submit it’s time for you to Burn The Boat ( toss aside the niceties) and Fight Like Hell to get what you came for!
